About the Opportunity

At Bolt, our drivers are integral to our mission and success. We are seeking a highly driven Community Specialist to build and sustain a vibrant, positive online community for our driver-partners across South Africa.

This role is the voice and bridge between the Bolt brand and the thousands of drivers operating on our platform. Your efforts will directly influence driver advocacy, engagement levels, and the public perception of Bolt throughout the region.


What You Will Be Doing

As the Community Specialist, you will be responsible for coordinating and executing driver engagement programs and managing brand communication across key social platforms.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Community Management: Establish and actively manage driver forums and groups across relevant online channels, including Facebook, WhatsApp, and Telegram.
  • Driver Communication: Coordinate with local Marketing and Operations teams to create and execute the comprehensive driver communications calendar and engagement events.
  • Event Coordination: Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Local Operations and Public Policy) to host engaging online and in-person Q&A and educational events.
  • Crisis & Trend Monitoring: Proactively flag potential viral cases and emerging trends to Customer Service, Operations, and Marketing colleagues to ensure rapid, coordinated responses.
  • Brand Advocacy: Actively contribute to increasing instances of positive driver/rider public relations (PR).
  • Social Media Execution: Manage the brand’s direct communication across all relevant social media channels, including Facebook, WhatsApp, Telegram, Twitter, and Instagram.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Advanced understanding of social media platforms and their features (Facebook, Instagram, Telegram, WhatsApp, etc.).
  • Proficiency in scheduling and analysing social content performance using platforms like Emplifi.
  • Demonstrated experience in organising both in-person and online events.
  • Flawless written and spoken communication in both English AND Zulu and/or Xhosa.
  • Basic technical understanding of CMS and CRM systems (e.g., WordPress, CleverTap, Mailchimp).
