About the Role

The Financial Planner role is designed to provide professional, tailored financial advice and solutions to new and existing clients. You will develop sustainable, high-quality business while maintaining long-term client relationships that generate ongoing advice and sales.

All activities are undertaken in a compliant and ethical manner, supporting the growth and reputation of the Sanlam brand.

Key Responsibilities

1. Grow the Sanlam Adviser Business

• Follow marketing plans and targets to grow the business.
• Apply market knowledge and customer insights to drive sales and revenue.
• Achieve targets for revenue generation, activity quotas, and brand promotion.
• Ensure fair treatment of clients in all engagements.

2. Networking, Prospecting & Lead Generation

• Engage in face-to-face, social, and business interactions to create opportunities.
• Prospect new clients through networks, associations, and presentations.
• Strengthen existing client relationships and increase services provided.
• Implement focused marketing campaigns for the middle-high and affluent markets.
• Generate leads through client referrals, monitoring client activities, and social media engagement.

3. Client Consultations & Sales

• Conduct comprehensive fact-finding sessions and financial needs analyses.
• Provide sound, personalised financial advice aligned with Treating Customers Fairly principles.
• Prepare financial plans and present solutions professionally.
• Use systems and e-tools to capture client information and update records.
• Review client portfolios annually to ensure continued alignment with their financial needs.

4. Client Service

• Ensure all interactions are ethical, professional, and courteous.
• Follow up on client queries through back-office support.
• Deliver value-added service to retain clients and strengthen loyalty.
• Continuously develop knowledge and skills to provide excellent client service.

5. Monitoring, Reporting & Documentation

• Maintain accurate records of client contacts, appointments, and consultations.
• Track issued business and revenue against targets.
• Update client records and ensure compliance with workflow requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

• Grade 12.
• Completion of FAIS “Fit and Proper” requirements and Regulatory Examination.
• Minimum 24 months registration with the Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA).
