Job Summary

We’re looking for a Junior Data Centre Manager to oversee the 24/7 operations of our data centre facility. The ideal candidate will apply engineering expertise, problem-solving skills, and design thinking in an agile team environment. You’ll ensure system reliability, manage Tier 1 service providers, and maintain compliance with operational and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Management

• Oversee daily data centre operations ensuring 24/7 uptime and adherence to best practices.
• Monitor all systems to maintain high reliability and performance.

Infrastructure Maintenance

• Manage all maintenance activities for data centre equipment.
• Ensure both planned and corrective maintenance are executed efficiently.

Team Management

• Supervise and support Tier 1 service providers and technical data centre staff.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, productivity, and accountability.

Vendor & Contractor Management

• Build strong relationships with vendors and contractors.
• Ensure all service delivery meets contractual and performance expectations.

Compliance & Standards

• Maintain compliance with ISO, ITIL, and data protection regulations.
• Uphold safety and operational standards at all times.

Process Development

• Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Methods of Procedure (MOPs), and Emergency Response Procedures (ERPs).

Capacity & Space Planning

• Plan for future capacity needs, ensuring power efficiency and sustainable growth.

Incident & Problem Management

• Lead incident responses and root cause analyses (RCAs).
• Ensure timely resolution and preventive measures for technical issues.

Continuous Improvement

• Research and implement automation tools to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
• Drive ongoing improvements to optimize processes and service quality.

Qualifications and Skills

Education

• Master Electrician with a certified electrical qualification, or
• Diploma/Degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (N6 Technical Diploma or higher).

Certifications

• Relevant industry certifications such as CCNA, VCP, or CDCP are highly advantageous.

Experience

• 3–5 years of experience in data centre operations, IT infrastructure, or a related technical role.

Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of data centre systems, including servers, storage, networking, virtualization, and cloud infrastructure.

Soft Skills

• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong customer service orientation and organizational skills.

🎓 Bachelor’s Degree: Information Technology
