Eligibility and Programme Details

Primary Requirements

To be eligible for the KTH Scholarship, you must:

  2. Apply for a Master’s programme at KTH as your first priority on your application to University Admissions in Sweden.
  3. Fulfill the admission requirements for the Master’s programme. Students with conditional eligibility can still apply for the scholarship.

Selection Criteria

The scholarship is primarily awarded based on academic excellence. Your application for the scholarship will be assessed in parallel with your admission application.

Eligible Fields of Study

The scholarship is available for applicants to nearly all Master’s programmes at KTH, including:

  • All two-year Master’s programmes spent entirely at KTH.
  • The joint Master’s programmes in Molecular Techniques in Life Science and Biostatistics and Data Science.
  • The one-year Master’s programme in Architectural Lighting Design.

Ineligible Programmes include joint Erasmus+, EIT Digital, EIT InnoEnergy, EIT Urban Mobility, and Nordic Five Tech programmes, and the joint programme in Computer Simulations for Science and Engineering. However, applicants to some of these may be eligible for the KTH Joint Programme Scholarship.


How to Apply in Two Simple Steps

The scholarship application process is integrated with your Master’s programme application:

  1. Apply for Admission: Apply for one or more eligible Master’s programmes through the national application system: www.universityadmissions.se. Ensure KTH is your first priority. The deadline for this application is 15 January 2026.
  2. Apply for the Scholarship: Complete the dedicated KTH Scholarship application form available on the official KTH website. The scholarship application period is from December 1, 2025, to January 15, 2026.

No Extra Documents Needed: When applying for the scholarship, you typically don’t need to upload extra documents, as KTH will access the supporting materials from your Master’s application on University Admissions.
