Our client, a fast-growing company revolutionizing the global forestry industry, is seeking a dynamic Finance, Admin & HR Lead to join their team in George, Western Cape. They are transitioning from R&D to full-scale production, and they need a leader to drive their financial stability and operational excellence during this critical phase.

This Role is Your Path to CFO

This isn’t just an administrative role; it’s a foundational leadership position with a clear trajectory. The successful candidate has the unique opportunity to build the function from the ground up, with the potential to grow into a senior finance leadership position, such as CFO, as the company scales globally.

You will be the vital link connecting finance, operational administration, and human resources, ensuring the entire organization is compliant, efficient, and well-supported.

Key Responsibilities: The Three Pillars of Your Leadership

Your expertise will span three critical areas:

1. Financial Strategy & Reporting

• Budgeting & Forecasting: Manage budgeting, financial modeling, and cash flow forecasting to guarantee financial stability and growth.
• Reporting: Support fundraising efforts by preparing and delivering accurate investor and board reports.
• Compliance: Ensure all tax and statutory compliance is met, serving as the main liaison with auditors and financial institutions.
• Profitability: Analyze costs, optimize profitability, and actively support strategic pricing strategies.

2. Operations & Administration

• Controls & Policies: Develop and maintain essential policies, controls, and processes aligned with industry best practices.
• Daily Accounting: Oversee all daily accounting tasks, including debtors, creditors, inventory management, reconciliations, and payments.
• Systems Implementation: Lead the implementation of inventory and Material Resource Planning (MRP) systems.
• Project Management: Track project costs and ensure timely, high-quality project execution (critical for a project-based funding environment).
• International Trade: Experience with logistics like EUR1 certificates and customs declarations is highly valued.

3. Human Resources Coordination

• People Management: Coordinate core HR functions, including monthly payroll, maintaining meticulous employee records, managing recruitment logistics, and supporting the performance review process.

What You Need to Succeed 🌟

We are looking for a highly capable and experienced professional who is ready for a demanding but incredibly rewarding challenge.

• Experience: 5+ years in a financial management or senior accounting role.
• Expertise: Proven expertise in budgeting, financial modeling, and cash flow forecasting.
• System Knowledge: Experience with ERP/MRP systems, managing project-based funding, and solid knowledge of HR functions.
• Tools: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365 (especially Excel). Experience with accounting software (Xero preferred) and payroll systems (e.g., SimplePay) is essential.
• Mindset: Dynamic, proactive, and ready to thrive in an environment transitioning from R&D to large-scale production.
