Tetra Pak is looking for a dedicated Accountant to join our FSM Group Financial Control & Finance Operations department. This is a temporary role based in Johannesburg, South Africa, where you’ll be a vital part of our finance team, ensuring accuracy and contributing to our global mission.

What You’ll Do: A Role Focused on Accuracy and Collaboration

As an Accountant, you will be responsible for providing accurate information for financial reporting and maintaining the integrity of our financial processes. Your main responsibilities will include:

• Financial Management: You’ll be responsible for maintaining and reconciling balance sheet and profit & loss accounts, assisting with annual audits, and preparing local tax returns.
• Process and System Improvement: You’ll contribute to the development of new accounting systems and procedures, implement best practices, and work on process improvement initiatives.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: You’ll work closely with our shared service provider, and cooperate with our Purchase to Pay (PTP) and Record to Report (RTR) teams on a daily and monthly basis.
• Ad-Hoc Duties: You’ll perform other accounting duties and provide support as required or assigned.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is a proactive and reliable professional with a strong foundation in accounting.

• Education & Experience: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required, along with 3-5 years of financial accounting experience.
• Skills & Attributes: We’re looking for someone who can work independently within established procedures and practices. Strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset are also essential for this role.
