Are you an experienced Mining Engineer with a keen eye for detail and a passion for planning? Seriti is looking for a dedicated Mining Activity Engineer to join our team at Middelburg Mine Services. This is a fixed-term contract for seven months, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to the strategic planning and execution of our mining operations.

What You’ll Be Doing
As a Mining Activity Engineer, you’ll report to the Section Manager Planning and play a crucial role in our mining activities. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Strategic Planning: Compiling designs, detailed plans, and short-term schedules for major mining activities.
- Analysis & Reporting: Conducting weekly, monthly, and annual reconciliations and supplying essential information for marketing and management plans.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Liaising with various departments, including Survey, Geology, Environmental, and Engineering, to ensure seamless integration of mine plans.
- Budgeting & Operations: Assisting with the annual budget process and leveraging your expertise in mining software and operational standards.
This role requires a high regard for safety, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to work under pressure.
What We’re Looking For
To be a great fit for this role, you will need:
- A National Diploma or Degree in Mining Engineering or relevant opencast mining qualifications.
- At least 6 years of mining experience, with a minimum of 2 years in a relevant supervisory or planning officer role.
- Experience with mine planning software such as 3D-dig, Microstation, Dragsim, or Deswik.
- A valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a valid Certificate of Fitness.
A Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency would be a significant advantage.
