Capitec Bank is looking for an experienced Account Executive to join our team in Menlyn, GT, ZA. In this role, you will be a key player in managing and growing a portfolio of business clients, identifying their unique financial needs, and providing tailored banking solutions.

What You’ll Be Doing

This isn’t just a sales job—it’s about building long-term partnerships. As an Account Executive, your primary purpose is to provide a proactive sales and service management function that helps our business clients succeed. You’ll be responsible for:

• Retaining and growing a portfolio of business clients.
• Identifying and implementing specialized financial products and solutions.
• Preparing and motivating credit applications.
• Managing client relationships with high-value customers who have varied and complex needs.

What We’re Looking For

To be successful in this role, you’ll need a solid background in banking and a deep understanding of the business landscape.

Experience

• A minimum of 5 years of banking experience, with at least 3 years specifically in the business banking environment.
• Proven experience in managing a complex portfolio of business customers.
• Significant experience in preparing and motivating credit applications.
• A track record of managing cost control and sales.

Qualifications

• Minimum: A relevant tertiary qualification in Business Management or Finance.
• Ideal: A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or Finance.

Knowledge & Skills

You’ll need a strong foundation in a variety of areas, including:

• Business Economics: A firm grasp of business principles and the current economic environment.
• Advanced CRM Principles: The ability to project credibility and build strong relationships with clients.
• Industry Knowledge: An understanding of different industry sectors, their risks, and how external conditions impact them.
• Credit Principles: Expertise in credit applications and practices.
• Legal & Financial: Knowledge of legal entities and a familiarity with FAIS and FICA.
• Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal, negotiation, problem-solving, and communication skills are a must.
