Are you an experienced and entrepreneurial underwriter with a passion for the African market? Swiss Re is looking for a dynamic Senior Client Underwriter to join our team, focusing on Property & Casualty (P&C) business across Sub-Saharan Africa. What You’ll Be Doing

As a Senior Client Underwriter, you’ll be at the forefront of our business development efforts. Your responsibilities will include:

• Underwriting and costing P&C treaty business, ensuring compliance with our guidelines and best practices.
• Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients in your assigned markets.
• Taking a holistic approach to client needs, identifying and pursuing all business opportunities, from facultative to treaty.
• Driving our strategy and ensuring that our marketing objectives and business plans are accurately implemented.
• Raising Swiss Re’s profile and strengthening our position as a leading partner in the region.

You’ll be joining a highly motivated team with a strong spirit of collaboration. We work closely with Specialty, Underwriting, and other teams to provide innovative solutions to our clients.

Who We’re Looking For

We need someone who is not only a technical expert but also a strategic, flexible, and innovative thinker. The ideal candidate will have:

• A minimum of 5 years of reinsurance or insurance experience.
• An excellent understanding of the non-life insurance and reinsurance markets, specifically in the assigned regions.
• Extensive P&C costing and underwriting expertise.
• A proven background in sales and marketing.
• The ability to build and maintain positive and constructive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
• A willingness to travel into Southern Africa.
