What Makes This Role Unique?

This isn’t your typical accounting job. As our Accountant, you’ll play a critical role in the heart of our Group Finance department, overseeing the General Ledger and financial reporting for all PPS Group investments. You will be responsible for more than just numbers; you’ll be the one providing valuable commentary and insights that inform management and the PPS Board. Your work will directly impact strategic decisions and help shape our financial future.

In this role, you will:

• Drive Financial Reporting: Take charge of month-end and year-end reporting, providing accurate financial insights with value-added commentary.
• Master Budgeting: Assist with investment budget preparation, present findings to Exco and the Board, and investigate monthly variances.
• Lead Year-End Processes: Prepare financial information for annual statements, assist with tax returns, and handle internal and external audit queries.
• Ensure Compliance: Manage statutory reporting, including Solvency Asset Requirements (SAM) and various returns for the SA Reserve Bank and NAMFISA.
• Act as a Trusted Advisor: Respond to timeous queries from business units, assist with ad-hoc requests, and support the transition of our Investment Admin Automation System.

Are You the Perfect Fit?

We’re looking for a CA(SA) with at least four years of working experience, preferably in the financial industry. You must have a strong background in investments and a proven track record in accounting. Knowledge of the insurance industry is a definite plus.
