AECI Mining is looking for a Group Operational Excellence Officer to join our team in Woodmead, Gauteng. This is a senior-level role where you’ll be the driving force behind improving our processes, enhancing productivity, and ensuring we operate at the highest possible standards.

What You’ll Be Doing

As the Group Operational Excellence Officer, you will lead a wide range of initiatives to streamline our operations and create a culture of excellence.

• Lead Improvement Projects: You’ll manage projects aimed at improving operational processes, coordinating resources and ensuring they are completed on schedule and within budget.
• Analyze and Optimize Processes: You’ll use methodologies like Lean and Six Sigma to identify and eliminate waste, reduce costs, and enhance overall efficiency.
• Strategic Planning: You will develop and execute a strategic plan for achieving operational excellence across the organization, ensuring all initiatives align with our business objectives.
• Ensure Compliance and Control: You’ll conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. You’ll also implement process control systems to maintain consistency and reliability.
• Data-Driven Decisions: You will analyze data and trends to provide management with reports for strategic decision-making and to develop corrective and preventive actions.

Who We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Industrial Management, or Operations Management and 5-7 years of experience in operations. You must have a proven track record of implementing and improving operational excellence systems. Experience with simulation software (like Simio or AnyLogic) and a Six Sigma or Lean certification are essential. You should also be experienced in managing multi-dimensional programs, working across diverse industries, and engaging with external international stakeholders.
