Are you a safety and environmental expert with a knack for leadership and a commitment to excellence? We are looking for a dedicated Environment & Safety Controller to join our team at the Polokwane Brewery. This is a crucial role where you’ll ensure a safe and sustainable workplace, directly impacting our team’s well-being and our business’s future.

This position is perfect for a professional who is passionate about creating a culture of safety and environmental responsibility. You’ll be the driving force behind our programs, working closely with management and employees to identify and mitigate risks, and ensure we’re always operating at the highest standards.


Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Compliance and Oversight: You will ensure our operations are fully compliant with all Occupational Health & Safety and Environmental legislation. You’ll monitor and advise on the implementation of our safety and environment pillars, helping us meet our targets.
  • Risk Management: You’ll be on the front line, identifying workplace hazards, tracking key performance indicators, and leading investigations into incidents to identify root causes and prevent future issues.
  • Training and Development: You will be responsible for conducting safety and environmental training, ensuring all employees and contractors are properly inducted and prepared for their work.
  • Continuous Improvement: You’ll drive the closure of safety gaps, support the safe execution of projects, and maintain all necessary documentation to keep our safety and environmental systems robust and effective.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A Degree-level qualification or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) environment, with a strong background in coaching, project management, and information technology.
  • Strong interpersonal, planning, and communication skills.
