In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient processing of plant samples in the laboratory. Your work will directly support the mine’s operations, ensuring that all laboratory activities run smoothly and accurately. What You’ll Be Doing

• Sample Processing: Take samples from the plant, process them in the laboratory, and report the results to the Laboratory Supervisor.
• Equipment Maintenance: Operate and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure quality results, and assist with equipment maintenance as needed.
• Safety & Compliance: Conduct regular risk assessments, comply with all safety standards and regulations, and assist with physical inspections of the plant and lab.
• Continuous Improvement: Make recommendations on how to improve sampling and processing methods.
• Training & Development: Attend training sessions to improve your skills and stay up-to-date on new systems and processes.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

• A Grade 12 certificate or relevant NQF level 4 qualification with Mathematics.
• A valid EB/Code 8 Drivers License.
• The ability to obtain a Red Ticket (Medical fitness certificate) on the mine.
• The ability to communicate effectively in English and work well in a team.
• Plant operations or lab work experience is a plus!
