The Opportunity

As the Head of Finance, you will lead a team responsible for managing and analyzing all financial activities for a specific product line within Nedbank CIB. You’ll be the one to make key recommendations that enable the business to make informed financial decisions and drive our strategy forward.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Financial Management: Take full end-to-end responsibility for the finances of your product line, ensuring the validity, accuracy, and completeness of all financial data.
• Strategic Insight: Provide deep analysis on profitability and returns, giving business leaders the insights they need to succeed.
• Cost Control: Collaborate with the business to identify and implement cost-saving initiatives, tracking and reporting on progress monthly.
• Team Leadership: Manage and mentor your team, ensuring they have the support and development opportunities they need to thrive. You’ll be responsible for performance management, talent development, and fostering a high-performing culture.
• Compliance and Risk: Stay ahead of changes in accounting standards and regulatory requirements, ensuring that all financial reporting is in line with International Financial Reporting Standards.

Are You the Perfect Fit?

We’re looking for an experienced leader with a strong financial background. The ideal candidate will have:

• 7+ years of financial management experience in the financial services sector.
• 5+ years of experience in a management role, leading a team.
• An Advanced Diploma/National 1st Degree is essential, while a Chartered Accountant qualification is preferred.
• Expert knowledge of financial accounting principles, governance, risk, and control.
• Proven skills in stakeholder management, strategic planning, and talent management.
