Are you a registered Pharmacist committed to providing exceptional pharmaceutical care? Dis-Chem Pharmacies is looking for a dedicated professional to join our team at the Randridge store in Randburg.
At Dis-Chem, our Pharmacists are at the heart of our mission to promote public health. You will be responsible for providing comprehensive, patient-centered care and ensuring our customers’ medicine-related needs are met with the highest standards of safety and professionalism.
What You’ll Be Doing
This role is much more than dispensing medication—it’s about making a tangible impact on our patients’ health and well-being. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Pharmaceutical Care: Dispensing medication, providing expert advice on medicine usage, and evaluating the safety and effectiveness of patient therapies.
- Patient Engagement: Following up with patients to ensure their needs are being met, explaining medical aid costs, and ensuring accurate patient profiles are maintained.
- Supervision & Mentorship: Taking accountability for all prescriptions prepared by assistants or interns, and training other staff members to ensure they adhere to professional standards.
- Operational Excellence: Managing stock control, handling all necessary paperwork for medical aid claims, and ensuring all store operations and health and safety regulations are strictly followed.
Is This You?
We are seeking a detail-oriented, trustworthy, and compassionate individual who is ready to take on a leadership role.
- Qualifications: You must have a BPharm or equivalent qualification and be registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC).
- Experience: A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a pharmaceutical environment, with retail pharmacy experience being highly advantageous.
- Essential Skills:
- Communication: Strong command of English and a second language, with excellent verbal and listening skills.
- Technical Knowledge: An in-depth understanding of basic dosing, important drug interactions, and medical aid procedures. Experience with systems like SAP or Unisolv is a plus.
- Leadership: Experience supervising and training other staff members, with the ability to lead by example.
- Personal Attributes: You are honest, trustworthy, and able to work well under pressure while maintaining a strong attention to detail.
