What You’ll Be Doing

As a Kitchen Supervisor, you will be the cornerstone of our kitchen operations. Your main purpose will be to ensure the smooth operation of all kitchen activities, from food production to inventory management, while fostering a positive and efficient work environment.

Key responsibilities include:

• Overseeing the smooth operation of all kitchen production activities.
• Maintaining consistency across all menu items to ensure quality standards are met.
• Assisting with monitoring inventory, ordering, and communicating needs to the catering manager.
• Ensuring portion control and proper food preparation to minimize waste and control costs.
• Supporting, training, and coaching the kitchen team to help them develop their skills.
• Completing relevant paperwork, including production and wastage sheets.
• Delivering excellent service and assisting with other duties as required.

This is a great role for someone who is hands-on, organized, and passionate about both food and people.

Who We’re Looking For

We need a proactive and experienced leader with a strong background in the culinary arts and a commitment to excellence.

Minimum requirements:

• Education: Matric is essential, and a relevant tertiary qualification in food and beverage services or culinary arts is compulsory.
• Experience: A minimum of 2 years of progressive kitchen management experience is compulsory. Experience with stock control, ordering, and receiving is also required.
• Knowledge & Skills: You must have knowledge of the catering environment, South African and industry-specific laws, and strong management and communication skills. Being computer literate and having knowledge of WorkSmart is essential.
