Are you a seasoned Project Manager with a knack for retail facilities and construction? The Clicks Group is looking for a dynamic and results-driven individual to join our Group Services and Facilities department at our Head Office in Woodstock, Cape Town.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead and execute key projects that align with our New Clicks South Africa strategy, including new store builds and regional refurbishments.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of various store projects. Your primary objective will be to ensure all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Project Execution: Managing the annual program for regional store refurbishments and new builds, ensuring they meet all business and regulatory requirements.
- Budget & Timeline Management: Delivering projects in line with the regional plan and budget to help the business achieve its operating goals.
- Stakeholder Relations: Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal teams, external contractors, architects, and local authorities.
- Reporting & Analysis: Providing timely and accurate reports to facilitate informed decision-on-making, mitigate risks, and maintain control over all projects.
- Resource Management: Effectively managing financial and other resources to deliver the operating plan and achieve business objectives.
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking a candidate with a strong background in retail project management and a solid understanding of construction and facilities.
Minimum requirements:
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of retail project management experience, specifically in delivering new store builds and refurbishments. You should also have 5 years of experience managing relationships with vendors, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is essential. Professional certifications like PMP or PRINCE2 are desirable.
- Skills: You must possess strong analytical, budgeting, and communication skills. We need a natural leader who excels at planning, problem-solving, and stakeholder management.
- Knowledge: Expertise in project management, contract management, budgeting, and health and safety standards is crucial. Knowledge of South African municipal, provincial, and national regulations is a plus.
