Shape the Future of Urban Transport: Join Us as Programme Manager for IRPTN Infrastructure
Are you a visionary leader in civil engineering or construction management with a passion for building better communities? The City of Ekurhuleni is seeking a skilled and experienced Programme Manager: Construction & Infrastructure-IRPTN to oversee the development of our Integrated Rapid Public Transport Network (IRPTN). This is a fixed-term contract where you’ll have a direct impact on the city’s future.
Your Role: Key Responsibilities
As the Programme Manager, you will be at the heart of our major infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for:
- Managing the internal processes for the construction of BRT bus lanes, stations, and pedestrian bridges.
- Ensuring adherence to all policies, regulations, and town planning requirements.
- Monitoring capital expenditure and processing invoices for various projects.
- Planning and controlling budgets for capital and operating expenses.
- Leading construction teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Implementing governance and risk control processes to mitigate all risks related to IRPTN infrastructure.
- Compiling maintenance programs and reports.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate is a strategic, results-driven professional with a strong background in civil engineering or construction management. You must have a proven track record of managing large-scale projects and leading teams effectively.
Minimum Requirements:
- BSc / BEng / BTech in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
- 5 years of experience in the construction and maintenance of roads and building infrastructure.
- A valid driver’s license.
Preferred Requirements:
- Professional registration with ECSA as a Pr. Engineer or Pr. Technologist, or with SACPCMP as a Project Manager Pr.CM.
What We Offer
This is a fixed-term contract with a total cost to company of R1,300,792.00 to R1,700,258.00. The successful candidate will be required to sign a performance contract as per Council resolution. You’ll be part of a team committed to excellence and the principles of the Employment Equity Act.
