  • Equipment Management: Support the team in maintaining operationally critical testing equipment, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring everything is functioning correctly.
  • Team & Financial Management: Lead and manage a diverse team, handle performance management, and demonstrate sound financial management skills, including experience with a business generating at least R30 million in annual revenue.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional with a strong background in engineering, laboratory management, and financial oversight. You should be a leader who prioritizes safety and has a deep knowledge of laboratory procedures and equipment.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Education: A bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
  • Experience: At least eight years of work experience in mechanical or electrical engineering, with a minimum of five years in either a mining, heavy machinery, laboratory, or technical environment.
  • Certifications: A Certificate in ISO 17025 laboratory systems is essential.
  • Skills: Proven experience in managing a diverse team, strong project management skills, and sound financial management abilities. Knowledge of SHE management systems and procedures is also crucial.
  • Attributes: We are seeking a leader with excellent interpersonal and team skills, who is dedicated to fostering a strong safety culture. Professional registration with ECSA is an advantage.

This is a permanent position with a market-related annual cost-to-company salary. If you’re an experienced professional ready to take on a leadership role that makes a real impact, we encourage you to apply.
