A Strategic Opportunity: Programme Designer, Learning, People & Culture

Are you a seasoned learning and development professional with a passion for designing innovative and impactful solutions? We are looking for a Programme Designer, Learning to join the People & Culture team within Personal & Private Banking. This is a full-time position in Johannesburg where you will play a pivotal role in enabling a positive workforce experience through strategically designed, commercially viable, and digitally enabled learning programs.


Your Strategic Role and Responsibilities

As a Programme Designer, you will be a key partner to business leaders and stakeholders, translating strategic needs into cutting-edge learning solutions. You will be at the forefront of optimizing technology and implementing end-to-end solutions that drive efficiency and agility. Your work will directly shape the skills and capabilities of our workforce, ensuring they are equipped to meet future challenges.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Learning Solutioning: Design and develop integrated learning solutions that are innovative, digitally enabled, and aligned with business requirements.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with key stakeholders and business leaders to understand their needs, using both deductive and inductive research to inform your design methodologies.
  • Technology Optimization: Drive efficiencies by optimizing technology in the design and development of all learning content, ensuring a seamless and positive user experience.
  • Strategic Alignment: Implement end-to-end solutions and ensure that all initiatives are aligned with the broader strategy and best practices of our Centre of Excellence (CoE).

Who We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is a highly experienced and collaborative professional with a proven track record in learning and development. You should be a strategic thinker with a strong focus on practical, data-driven solutions.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Education: A Degree in Social Science or an equivalent qualification.
  • Experience: A minimum of 8-10 years of demonstrated workplace experience in Learning.
  • Skills: In-depth experience collaborating with stakeholders and business leaders, designing learning content for various technologies, and the ability to define and lead the design of appropriate learning solutions to address performance gaps.
  • Competencies: We are looking for someone with strong skills in Solution Design and Development, Learning Technology, and Workforce Insights, who can also provide valuable insights and uphold high standards.
