About the Role
Transport is at the core of modern society. If you’re a qualified Auto Electrician with a passion for shaping sustainable transport and infrastructure solutions for the future, then the Volvo Group wants to hear from you. We are looking for an expert in diagnostics and fault-finding to join our team in Riverhorse.
In this role, you will be the go-to person for all auto-electrical work, providing essential expertise and support to technicians. You will be reporting directly to the Team Leader and contributing to Volvo’s commitment to quality and safety.
What You’ll Do:
- Perform fault tracing and diagnostics on a variety of Volvo products.
- Use your knowledge and experience to interpret symptoms of underperformance or component failure.
- Follow all directives and instructions in Volvo’s Workshop Manuals and other technical literature.
- Produce high-quality work that meets Volvo’s standards.
- Accurately document all diagnoses, assessments, actions, and recommendations on job cards.
- Complete all necessary documentation, including QC forms and servicing schedules.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment according to Volvo standards and management requirements.
- Assist with mechanical repairs when required.
- Adhere to all ISO 9001 and safety processes and regulations.
Who We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate for this position is a highly skilled and motivated individual with a strong commitment to quality. You should have:
Qualifications & Experience:
- Matric/N3.
- Must be a qualified Auto Electrician.
- Relevant health and safety training is a plus.
- At least 3 years of experience in maintaining and repairing commercial vehicles.
- Prior experience with Volvo products is a significant advantage.
Key Competencies:
- Ability to read and use all relevant measuring equipment.
- Willingness to work standby and overtime as needed.
- Excellent knowledge and skills for performing correct repair work.
- The ability to accurately interpret technical manuals and specifications.
- Must be fluent in English (speaking, reading, and writing).
- Possession of a PRDP driver’s license is required.
- Computer literacy.
