Are you an experienced HR professional ready to make a significant impact? We’re looking for a dynamic and strategic Senior Human Resources Business Partner to join our team in Johannesburg. This is an exciting opportunity to translate business needs into impactful HR solutions, drive strategic alignment, and foster a high-performance culture.
About the Role:
As a Senior HR Business Partner, you will be the primary HR relationship manager for an allocated business division, strategically aligning with the Functional Executive and their Senior Management team. Your core responsibility will be to proactively partner with the business to implement HR strategies, manage the delivery of HR solutions, and serve as an escalation point for complex individual case management. You will also own the Employee Relations and Transformation Centres of Excellence for the Company, designing and delivering organizational development interventions that drive improvement and growth.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
- Strategic Consulting & Organizational Development: Provide strategic consulting, design, and deliver organizational development interventions to support business needs.
- HR Strategy & Implementation: Proactively partner with the business to implement HR strategies and manage the delivery of HR solutions.
- Talent Management: Support recruitment, performance management, succession planning, and strategic workforce planning. Coach leadership to improve effectiveness and compliance with employment equity.
- People Development: Identify learning and development needs and facilitate appropriate solutions.
- Employee Relations: Ensure compliance with labor relations policies, support processes, and provide expert advice on industrial relations matters.
- Compensation: Inform and advise on compensation and rewards guidelines, actively participate in remuneration reviews, and bonus distribution.
- Change Capability: Act as a change agent, actively participate in operational transformation, and facilitate team effectiveness and employee engagement initiatives.
- High-Performance Culture: Lead by example with guiding principles, provide coordination, reporting, and analysis on HR projects, including all Department of Labour and employment equity reporting.
- Process Ownership: Develop and maintain HR strategy and supporting policy, implement and manage strategy in collaboration with global colleagues, and fulfill line management responsibilities for a small team.
Who We’re Looking For:
- Qualifications: A University Degree is essential, with a relevant HR/professional qualification and a postgraduate qualification being highly desirable.
- Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience within the Human Resources function.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar Senior HR Business Partner role.
- Proven experience and developed skills in strategic consulting, organization design, change management, HR planning, employee relations, performance management, and compensation management.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Strong relationship management skills and the ability to build credibility with senior leaders.
- Excellent business acumen and relevant industry knowledge.
- Solid influencing and negotiation skills.
- Sound understanding of internal and external networks and resources.
- Demonstrated HR & business commercial savvy, acting as an HR strategic partner and broker of expert HR services.
- Strong leadership competencies, including the ability to act with integrity, manage ambiguity, drive a high-performance culture, inspire others, and build the next generation of talent.
Success in this role will be measured by:
- Effective talent management, including movement, development, retention, and attrition.
- Client alignment to group performance distribution guidelines.
- Direct positive feedback from the business division.
- Effective standardized Human Resources processes.
- A positive employment relations climate.
- Achievement of service-level agreements with the business division and HR.
