About Africa Healthcare Network (AHN)

Africa Healthcare Network (AHN) is a pioneering healthcare provider in East Africa, primarily focused on delivering high-quality, affordable dialysis services. Founded in 2015, AHN emerged from a critical need for accessible renal care in a region where less than 5% of patients requiring treatment for kidney disease receive it. The organization has rapidly expanded its footprint, establishing the largest chain of dialysis clinics across Sub-Saharan Africa, with over 60 centers currently in operation across East Africa, including a significant presence in Tanzania. AHN distinguishes itself by bringing world-class technical expertise and state-of-the-art equipment, including brand-new dialysis machines and reverse osmosis systems, to underserved urban and rural communities.

AHN’s impact extends beyond direct patient care. The organization is committed to strengthening the healthcare workforce in the region through rigorous 12-week training programs and ongoing education for hundreds of nurses and nurse assistants, thereby raising the standard of care. They also focus on disease prevention and early identification of kidney disease. With significant investment from partners like Africa50 and AfricInvest, AHN is strategically positioned for further expansion, aiming to reach over 100 centers by 2026. This expansion is driven by a mission to provide life-saving care and improve overall healthcare outcomes in Africa, adhering to high ethical and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards as a “force for good” in the communities they serve.
